Kraken Referral Code: 20% Cashback on Fees

Kraken referral code yrrzdttt gives you 20% of your eligible trading fees back. Learn who qualifies, how it compares with Kraken's fixed bonuses and what the cashback saves at today's fee tiers.

Key takeaways

  • Code yrrzdttt returns 20% of your eligible trading fees: Enter it when creating a new Kraken account. Kraken credits cashback on your own qualifying fees after verification. The code cannot be added to an existing account.
  • Kraken pays two kinds of referral reward: Cashback links return a share of each eligible fee. Fixed bonuses pay a set amount that varies by country, up to $100 on the Kraken app, after a new user deposits cash and trades within the deadline.
  • Kraken Pro fees now depend on volume or balance: Holding assets on Kraken has counted toward lower fee tiers since 9 Jul 2026. Entry-tier fees are 0.40% for orders that wait in the order book and 0.80% for orders that trade immediately.
  • Rewards come with conditions: Your identity document must match the country selected at sign-up. Trades between cash and dollar-pegged tokens called stablecoins do not count, and Kraken can withhold rewards for activity it considers abusive.

What the Kraken referral code yrrzdttt gives you

New Kraken accounts using code yrrzdttt receive 20% cashback on their own eligible trading fees. That cuts each qualifying fee by a fifth.

The cashback falls under the Revenue Share Referral Plan in Kraken's referral program terms. Under this plan, the new user receives cashback on their own fees, while the inviter earns a share of the fees that account generates.

A referral code is a short string that connects a new account to its inviter. Kraken requires new users to register through a valid referral link and never to have held a Kraken account. The code therefore only works when the account is created.

Kraken's parent company, Payward, Inc., holds more than 100 licences and registrations worldwide.

Alpha Finance owns the referral code yrrzdttt. As explained in our affiliate disclosure, Kraken pays us a share of the trading fees your account generates, at no extra cost to you.

Kraken referral code yrrzdttt gives 20% cashback on your own eligible trading fees: a fee ring for a $16 taker fee on a $2,000 market order at Tier 1, with a $3.20 slice returned to you and the rest kept by Kraken at no extra cost to you; the code is entered at sign-up, cannot be added to an existing account and is credited after Kraken verifies each trade

How to use a Kraken referral code

To get started, complete the sign-up form, verify your identity and fund your account.

  1. Start a new account: Download the Kraken Pro app or open Kraken's sign-up page. Kraken's support guide to Pro app referrals confirms that referral codes can be entered during account creation.
  2. Enter yrrzdttt in the referral code field: Type it exactly as shown. The sign-up form then confirms "20% cashback on trading fees". It also tells you the referrer sees the volume and fees from your trades, but not your name, balances or positions.
  3. Choose your real country of residence: Kraken cancels the reward if your identity document comes from a different country.
  4. Verify your identity: Complete the know-your-customer (KYC) check, the identity verification every regulated exchange runs.
  5. Fund the account: Deposit cash from a bank account or transfer crypto from another wallet. Fixed-bonus offers require a cash deposit from a bank and exclude card deposits.
  6. Trade on Kraken Pro: Its order book interface shows the prices at which other users are waiting to buy and sell. Your order is matched against theirs.

Kraken checks every condition before crediting a reward. For rewards paid in crypto, the dollar value can change between calculation and receipt, according to Kraken's referral terms.

Who qualifies for Kraken referral rewards

First-time users must meet every condition in the official terms for Kraken referral programs. Missing any requirement voids the reward.

  • New users only: You must not currently hold, or ever have held, a Kraken account. Each new user receives one reward unless the offer states otherwise.
  • An eligible country: Residents qualify where local law permits referral promotions. Using a VPN, a tool that hides your location, to bypass geographic restrictions leads to disqualification.
  • A matching identity document: Your ID must be issued by the country selected at sign-up.
  • Qualifying trades: Eligible activity includes buy, sell and convert orders, along with trades on spot markets (buying the coin itself), margin markets (trading with borrowed money) and futures markets (contracts on an asset's price). Exclusions cover trades between cash and stablecoins, which are tokens pegged to a currency such as the US dollar, and trades between two stablecoins. Bundles and equities also do not count.
  • Good-faith activity: Multiple or fake accounts, false information and wash trading (trading with yourself to inflate volume) can cause Kraken to refuse or reverse a reward. Closing the new account within a month of opening can also lead to revocation.

A reward is yours only once credited. Kraken can change, suspend or cancel any referral program at any time.

Who qualifies for Kraken referral rewards: four checks between sign-up and a credited reward, never having held a Kraken account, living in an eligible country, holding an ID from the sign-up country and trading in good faith, with the failures that void a reward; spot, margin, futures and buy, sell and convert trades count, while cash to stablecoin, stablecoin to stablecoin, bundles and equities do not

Kraken referral cashback versus the fixed sign-up bonus

Cashback suits regular trading, while a fixed bonus suits a single purchase.

Under the offer on Kraken's referrals page, the inviter and new user can each receive up to $100 in the US, Australia and Canada. The amount depends on the country, and Kraken's German and French pages offer up to €20. The new user must register on the mobile app using the invite, deposit cash and complete the offer within 15 days. Stablecoin purchases are excluded. One reward is allowed per device per household. Payment arrives at least 14 days after completion.

The Kraken Pro app version offers a fixed $20 in the user's default currency, paid as bitcoin or the USDG stablecoin depending on the region. Users have 30 days to complete the steps. Eligible locations include the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, Brazil and Australia, plus European countries including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Ireland.

With a cashback link such as yrrzdttt, there is no upfront payment. Its value grows as a percentage of each qualifying trading fee is returned. Each plan sets its own reward, payment timing and completion window under Kraken's referral terms.

A separate referral offer for Kraken's Krak debit card is available in the European Economic Area, the UK and the US. New users qualify through card spending rather than trading.

Line chart of Kraken referral cashback against the fixed sign-up bonuses: 20% cashback grows with every fee paid, returning $3.20 on a $16 fee and $28 on $140 of fees, and passes the $20 Kraken Pro app bonus (30 days to qualify) and the Kraken app bonus of up to $100 by country (15 days to qualify)

What the Kraken referral cashback is worth

How much cashback you receive depends on your trading volume and fee tier.

Kraken Pro uses maker and taker rates. A maker order is a limit order that waits in the order book at your chosen price. A taker order executes immediately against orders already waiting.

Since 9 Jul 2026, Kraken's cross-platform fee tiers place you by your 30-day spot volume, your 30-day futures volume or the assets you hold on Kraken, whichever produces the lowest rate.

The following rates are from Kraken's fee schedule on 15 Oct 2026.

Tier30-day volume or balance heldMakerTakerTaker after 20% cashback
Tier 1$0+0.40%0.80%0.64%
Tier 2$2.5K+0.30%0.60%0.48%
Tier 3$10K+ or $20K held0.22%0.38%0.304%
Tier 4$25K+ or $50K held0.20%0.35%0.28%
Tier 5$50K+ or $100K held0.15%0.30%0.24%
Tier 6$100K+ or $200K held0.12%0.25%0.20%

At Tier 1, a new user's $2,000 market order incurs $16 in taker fees and returns $3.20 in cashback. Placed as a limit order, the same trade costs $8 and returns $1.60.

Holding $50,000 on Kraken is enough to reach Tier 4. A user at that tier who places $40,000 of taker orders in a month pays $140 in fees and receives $28 back.

The simpler Buy screen is more expensive. According to the fee schedule for Kraken's Buy screen, instant and recurring purchases carry a 1% fee, while custom orders cost 1.5%. A spread, the difference between the market price and the price you receive, applies on top.

A $2,000 instant purchase therefore costs at least $20. The equivalent taker fee on Kraken Pro is $16 before cashback. Instant Buy volume does not count toward your fee tier.

Kraken Pro spot taker fees by tier with 20% cashback removed: Tier 1 0.80% to 0.64%, Tier 2 0.60% to 0.48%, Tier 3 0.38% to 0.304%, Tier 4 0.35% to 0.28%, Tier 5 0.30% to 0.24% and Tier 6 0.25% to 0.20%; $50,000 held reaches Tier 4 alone, and a $2,000 Instant Buy costs at least $20 against $16 on Kraken Pro

Kraken's licences and regulatory record

Kraken is licensed or registered in most large markets it serves, but a fee rebate offers little value if the platform holding your money is unsafe. Compare its standing with other regulated crypto exchanges.

  • European Union: A licence under MiCA, the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, was granted by the Central Bank of Ireland in June 2025. It allows Kraken to serve clients across the European Economic Area. Other MiCA-licensed exchanges in Europe operate under the same rules.
  • Australia: Bit Trade Pty Ltd, trading as Kraken, is registered with AUSTRAC, the national financial intelligence agency, and belongs to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, according to Kraken's legal disclosures. Its exchange does not hold an Australian financial services licence, and derivatives are available only to wholesale clients. See how it compares with other crypto exchanges in Australia.
  • United Kingdom: Kraken's UK disclosures show that Payward Limited has been registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as a cryptoasset business since 22 Nov 2021. Most crypto holdings are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, Kraken warns.
  • United States: Payward Interactive holds state money transmitter licences and is registered as a money services business with FinCEN, the US Treasury's financial crimes bureau, per Kraken's US licence disclosures. Payward Financial holds a Wyoming special purpose depository institution charter.

On 27 Mar 2025, the US Securities and Exchange Commission dismissed its lawsuit against Kraken with prejudice, meaning the case cannot be refiled.

In Australia, the Federal Court ordered Bit Trade to pay A$8 million following enforcement action by ASIC, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, in 2024. ASIC had shown that Bit Trade offered a margin extension product to more than 1,100 Australians without a required target market determination. Those customers lost more than US$5 million.

Quarterly proof-of-reserves reports let Kraken clients check that their balances are backed by assets the exchange holds. The latest report, dated 30 Jun 2026, was validated by accounting firm The Network Firm, according to Payward's Q2 2026 financial highlights.

World map of Kraken's licences: Payward holds more than 100 licences and registrations, including FinCEN registration and a Wyoming SPDI charter in the US, where the SEC case was dismissed on 27 Mar 2025; FCA registration in the UK since 22 Nov 2021; a MiCA licence from the Central Bank of Ireland in June 2025; Dubai VARA full market approval on 12 Oct 2026; and AUSTRAC registration in Australia with an A$8 million ASIC penalty in 2024

What has changed at Kraken for new users

New Kraken users in 2026 have access to far more than spot crypto. Recent changes affect both the products they can trade and the fees they pay.

  • US perpetual futures and spot margin: Payward's Q2 2026 update says Kraken launched the first perpetual futures and retail spot margin regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for US traders. These products were built on Bitnomial, the exchange it bought on 1 May 2026. Perpetual futures track an asset's price and have no expiry date.
  • Higher leverage outside the US: Eligible clients outside the US can access up to 100x leverage on bitcoin and ether, according to the same Payward update. It also lists perpetual futures on private companies such as SpaceX, OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • Tokenised stocks: xStocks are tokens tracking US shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Purchases made with USDG or US dollars on Kraken's Buy screen carry no trading fee under Kraken's xStocks fee terms. You can also follow the wider market for tokenised stocks and commodities.
  • A Nasdaq partnership: On 10 Sep 2026, Nasdaq agreed to invest $100 million in Payward. It expects to launch Nasdaq Equity Tokens with Payward in the second quarter of 2027.
  • A UAE launch: Payward secured full market approval from Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority on 12 Oct 2026 and plans to open to UAE clients within weeks. Clients will be able to deposit dirhams and trade dirham-denominated pairs.
  • A European bank: Payward agreed to buy Saldo Bank, a digital bank licensed in Lithuania, on 14 Oct 2026. Subject to approval, the deal is expected to close in 2027. Payward says the purchase would allow it to offer European clients deposit interest and loans.
  • Results and listing plans: Q2 2026 adjusted revenue reached $508 million, up 17% from a year earlier. Funded accounts increased 42% to 6.6 million, while total transaction volume declined 18% to $310 billion. Kraken confidentially submitted a draft IPO filing to the SEC on 19 Nov 2025, and co-CEO Arjun Sethi confirmed the filing again in April 2026. The Block reported in August that no new listing date had been set.
Timeline of Kraken changes in 2026: the Bitnomial deal closed on 1 May, cross-platform fee tiers began on 9 Jul, Nasdaq agreed to invest $100 million on 10 Sep with Equity Tokens due in Q2 2027, Dubai approval came on 12 Oct and the Saldo Bank deal on 14 Oct; Payward's Q2 2026 adjusted revenue was $508 million, up 17%, funded accounts 6.6 million, up 42%, and volume $310 billion, down 18%, with up to 100x leverage and perpetual futures on SpaceX, OpenAI and Anthropic outside the US

The risks of trading on Kraken with leverage

A single leveraged trade can lose more than years of referral cashback would save.

Leverage lets you trade a position larger than your deposit by borrowing money. This magnifies the effect of price changes on your balance. Your deposit is called margin. At 10x leverage, a 10% move against your position wipes it out. Kraken can then close the position automatically through a process called liquidation.

A leveraged position can lose the entire amount committed as margin. When Kraken liquidates a spot margin position, it also charges a 2% fee under its margin fee rules. Use the liquidation price calculator to see where a position would be closed and the position size calculator to assess how much of your account a trade puts at risk.

Perpetual futures also have a funding rate. This regular payment between traders betting on rising and falling prices keeps the contract close to the market price. Funding is paid or received separately from trading fees. You can compare funding rates across six exchanges before opening a position.

Kraken balances have no deposit insurance. Neither the US deposit and broker protection schemes, FDIC and SIPC, nor comparable schemes elsewhere cover them, according to Kraken's legal disclosures.

Chart of a 10x leveraged position losing margin as the price moves against it, wiped out at a 10% move when Kraken can liquidate the position, compared with $3.20 of cashback on a $2,000 market order; beside it a 2% liquidation fee on spot margin, funding rates on perpetual futures and no FDIC or SIPC deposit insurance

Questions

What is the Kraken referral code?

Code yrrzdttt gives new Kraken accounts 20% cashback on their own eligible trading fees. Enter it when creating your account, then verify your identity and trade. Kraken credits the cashback after confirming that each trade qualifies under its referral terms. Alpha Finance owns the code and receives a share of the fees your account generates.

Can I add a Kraken referral code after I sign up?

A code cannot be added after registration. Kraken requires new users to sign up through a valid referral link and never to have held an account. Creating a second account to claim a reward is treated as abuse and leads to disqualification.

Does Kraken offer a sign-up bonus?

Kraken offers sign-up bonuses in selected countries. Its app pays up to $100 each, depending on the country, to the inviter and new user after a cash deposit and qualifying trade within 15 days, according to Kraken's referrals page. The Kraken Pro app offers a fixed $20 with a 30-day completion window. Each new user receives one reward unless the offer states otherwise.

Is the Kraken referral program available in Australia?

Australia is eligible for the Kraken Pro app referral bonus. The cashback plan is available wherever local law permits referral promotions. Australian clients are served through Bit Trade Pty Ltd, which is registered with AUSTRAC.

Is a Kraken referral code the same as the Kraken affiliate program?

The referral program allows any verified user to share a code with friends. Businesses must apply to the separate Kraken affiliate program, which pays a revenue share on spot and futures trading fees but excludes funding payments and conversion fees. Individuals are also barred from promoting a personal referral link through paid ads.

How is a Kraken promo code different from a referral code?

Referral codes connect new accounts to their inviters and only work at sign-up. Promotions are time-limited campaigns that existing users can join. For example, the October 2026 Halloween sweepstakes gave one entry for every dollar traded, counting only volume traded after enrolment.
