About this data

Updated Sep 2026

Figures are shown as the source publishes them, and anything we calculate is explained below. How the data is made Report an error General information, not financial advice.

What this page measures

A spot crypto ETF buys the coin it tracks when money comes in and sells it when money goes out. The net flow is the difference between the two for a session, in US dollars. Adding every fund's net flow gives the figure for the asset, and adding the assets gives the total at the top.

The daily chart stacks each asset's net flow, so a day where Bitcoin funds took money and Ethereum funds lost it shows both: one bar above the line, one below.

Sessions and late reports

Funds report after the US market closes, and some report a day late. A session where no fund has reported yet is left out of the totals, so a quiet reporting day never shows as a flat zero. The Through date on each asset is its last session with figures.

Why some histories are short

  • Bitcoin: from the funds' launch on 11 Jan 2024
  • Ethereum: from 23 Jul 2024
  • XRP: from Nov 2025
  • Solana and Hyperliquid: the most recent weeks only, so their cumulative figures cover that window, not the funds' whole lives

Net assets

Net assets are what the funds report they hold, in dollars. Only Bitcoin and Ethereum funds publish them in a form we can total, so the headline figure covers those two. The share of market cap compares that figure with the coin's total market value today.

Questions

What are crypto ETF flows?

The money going into or out of the exchange-traded funds that hold a crypto asset directly. An inflow means the funds bought the coin that day; an outflow means they sold it.

Which crypto ETFs are included?

The US spot funds for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Hyperliquid. Futures-based funds are left out, because they hold contracts, not the coin.

When do the figures update?

Once a day, after the funds report. Most report the same evening in New York; a few report the next morning, so the latest session can fill in over a day.
