What a whale position is
Hyperliquid is a public order book: every position, its entry, its leverage and the price at which it would be liquidated sit on the chain for anyone to read. This page reads the ones that matter, every open perpetual position worth more than one million dollars, and puts them on one screen. Who is long, who is short, how much, since when, and where each one breaks.
Whale positions matter twice over. They are a read on what large, deliberate money believes, which is not the same as what the crowd believes. And they are a map of forced flow: when a large position is liquidated, its size is sold or bought into the market at once, and a cluster of liquidation prices near the mark is a cluster of fuel for a move in that direction.
How to read the page
- Whale bias is the share of whale notional that is long. It says which way the largest positions lean, coin by coin, not which way price will go. Whales are often early and often wrong for a long time before they are right.
- The liquidation ladder places every whale position in a coin at its liquidation price. Longs are liquidated below the mark, shorts above. A dense band of bars close to the mark is the level to watch: a move there forces the largest players out.
- Latest moves are opens and closes over one million dollars as they land. A run of large opens on one side, or a large whale closing, is often the first sign of a change in positioning before it shows in the aggregates.
- Unrealised PnL is the position's profit or loss at the mark. A whale deep in loss and close to liquidation is under pressure; a whale deep in profit has room to add, or to take it off.

What counts as a whale?
Any open perpetual position on Hyperliquid worth more than one million dollars at the mark price. Smaller positions are not tracked.
Can I see who owns a position?
Only the address. Hyperliquid accounts are pseudonymous, and this page does not attribute them. The address links to the Hyperliquid explorer, where its full history is public.
How fresh is the data?
Positions and alerts are indexed in real time and this page refreshes every two minutes. The header shows the time of the last reading, in UTC.
Does a whale being long mean the price will rise?
No. It means a large account believes it will, or is hedging something you cannot see. Whale positions are a read on positioning and on where forced selling or buying sits, not a prediction.
